Judy Goddard – Chief Executive OfficerMasiwela is the brainchild of Judy Goddard. Born in Zimbabwe and based in South Africa, Judy is your quintessential Africaneer. She is passionate and dedicated to the continent of her birth. And she is determined to make a difference. Her hard working and friendly demeanour has seen the company grow from strength to strength. With her forward thinking, compassionate and enthusiastic nature, the opportunities for Masiwela are endless. Judy completed her honours degree in Hospitality and Business Management in Switzerland. Here she excelled. Judy was awarded Outstanding Student of the Graduating Class of 2007 and the Swiss Hospitality Touch for Leadership in the Graduating Class of 2008.Whilst studying, she took the time to travel, working in countries like Australia, United Kingdom, the United States & Europe. With ten years of management experience under her belt Judy has enjoyed a successful career. She has worked with world class establishments such as the Marriott and Hyatt Groups overseas as well as local corporations such as African Sun and the Multichoice Group. Judy is practised in Human Resource Management, Sales, Marketing and Project Management, making her well-placed to drive the success of Masiwela and the clients the business represents.
Carly Willliams – Chief Operations OfficerCarly has extensive marketing experience. Having worked as an Events Manager for 15 years, Carly has the impressive ability to single-handedly manage entire event teams, including full time staff, contractors and casuals. She is proficient in client liaison, having dedicated long hours to nurturing company relationships and is able to devise and organise large scale events with confidence. Carly has worked with big name clients like BMW, Discovery, Dulux, FHM, Mediterranean Shipping Company, Mercedes-Benz, MTN, Nampak, Nedbank, Old Mutual, Sanral, Standard Bank, UNISA, Vodacom, and Volkswagen. She was also heavily involved in events for Aggreko during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Carly also worked as a Senior Account Manager of an Incentive Event Management Company, travelling through South Africa and Zambia, working on projects for Zimbabwe, Mauritius and East Africa. Carly is dedicated to providing the best service for her clients, placing substantial emphasis on the selection of personnel and service providers. She is able to work as an intermediary between clients and advertising agencies and is well equipped to ensure all projects, events and campaigns run smoothly from start to finish. Her exposure to big name clients and her ability monitor performance, stick to budgets and negotiate with clients, makes Carly an invaluable member of the Masiwela team.
Ashleigh Rowley – General Manager: EventsAshleigh started off her marketing dream at the University of Johannesburg studying a BA degree in Corporate Communications. The 3 year course cemented her love for the creative world of marketing. She is passionate about the industry and its every aspect, from events to client campaigns to brand awareness. After completing her degree, Ashleigh embarked in search of work, eager to gain experience and begin her career in the marketing industry. She was given an opportunity as an assistant to a marketing manager at a Sandton nightclub. It was here that she was encouraged to learn and obtain valuable information about the trade. She gained invaluable experience, dealing with different aspects of marketing- from customer relations to dealing with suppliers and brands. Ashleigh then spread her wings, leaving the company in search of new ventures and new opportunities. This led her to Masiwela, where she is thriving and bringing creativity and excitement to the team.
Siobhan Rosenfels – General Manager: MarketingBorn in Zimbabwe, Siobhan Rosenfels moved to do her secondary education in South Africa and then completed her degree in a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English and Classical Civilisations at Rhodes University. Siobhan then went on to complete her Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Media studies at Rhodes University. Within these valuable schooling years she worked extensively with various publications and attended a number of writing and photography courses. As a self-confessed book addict, she has always known that she would one day pursue her dream of working with words. With a flair for writing and a creative, intelligent mind, Siobhan further developed her skill by proof-reading and editing textbooks, website content and writing articles. Additionally she has gained experience in the world of Television and has worked for MNet and Rainbow Productions, both companies relying greatly on her knowledge of the English language and attention to fine detail. Siobhan’s creativity, powerful way with words, professionalism and dedication brings a wealth of skill to the Masiwela team.
Larica Schnell – Social Media Manager
After matriculating at Crawford College in Pretoria, Larica spent 5 years working and studying in Cape Town and completed her BA degree in Theatre and Performance in 2014. Her passion and drive lies within the realm of the arts, specifically in acting, writing and directing in theatre and film. Larica moved back to Gauteng in January 2015 where she decided that she wanted to learn other things and that she needed to challenge herself outside of the arts world. Subsequently Larica developed a keen interest in marketing, seeing as it also requires and involves creativity, focus, vision, a thinking-out-of-the-box approach as well as working with and understanding people. She started doing freelance work for Masiwela in February 2015 and has since then been helping with social media and content writing. Larica has a love for learning and for honing multiple skills and so intends to grow in both her artistic career as well as in her marketing career.
